Students were taken to the school ground for an engaging outdoor activity to understand the concept of ALIVE, ONCE ALIVE, and NEVER ALIVE. The students were asked to form a circle and were given 5 minutes to explore the surroundings and collect two objects: one that was ONCE ALIVE and one that was NEVER ALIVE.
Students actively participated and brought items such as dried leaves, pieces of wood, rocks, bat, bottle cap etc. A discussion was then conducted where each object was observed and categorized. Further it was explained that a dried leaf or wood was ONCE ALIVE because it came from a living plant but is now non-living. On the other hand, objects like rocks or a bat were explained as NEVER ALIVE, as they never had life in them.
This activity helped students clearly understand the difference between ALIVE, ONCE ALIVE, and NEVER ALIVE through real-life examples and hands-on learning.
